A huge well done to Alexandra Bell who came 1st in the Senior Ladies Race at the recent Yorkshire Cross Country Championships.

Following on from some great performances in the West Yorkshire League, Alex had an absolutely superb run at the hotly contested race. Battling with top runners from all over Yorkshire, she fought off the competition and is rightly crowned Yorkshire Champion 2015!

Claire Green also had a strong run, finishing in 32nd place, contributing towards an impressive start to the year for the P&B ladies.

For the chaps, Cross Country Captain Niall flew the maroon-and-gold flag, finishing 104th place in a very competitive field — looking at the results it’s a bit weird seeing some top fell regulars much lower down than usual. Tough race; very well run guys.

Great to get a few juniors out also: Mitchell Boocock finished 50th and Declan Walker 57th in the U13 boys race. Emma Boocock was 33rd in the U17 girls. Good effort all round.

MEANWHILE… OUTSIDE OF YORKSHIRE…

Despite the obvious geographical conflict, it would be remiss of me to neglect to mention Rob Hope‘s impressive run at the Lancashire XC Championships where he stormed the opposition by finishing 1st in the Mens Vets category and 5th overall. Cracking running Rob, very well done. (Full results here)

That means both Alex and Rob have qualified to run for their counties in the UK Counties Cross Country Championships — outstanding running both and all the best for 2015’s racing.
